Description: The Montana Department of Revenue (DOR) maintains the database of Tax Increment Financing Districts. Attribute information including levy districts and dates comes directly from them. The MSL acts as the point of contact on these boundaries for editing, schema changes, maintenance, web services and distribution. These boundaries were created based on the best available source data received from the Montana DOR or from the local governments: Legal Descriptions, GIS Files, Source Maps, or where data sources were not available the Montana Cadastral GIS Data was used. Digital data used as a base layer to create these boundary files were the best available source at the time: Cadastral (parcel lines), Geographic Coordination Data Base (GCDB)/ CadNSDI, National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) Imagery, and 1:24,000 USGS Topographic Maps. All of these base layers can be found at the following website for download: https://ftpgeoinfo.msl.mt.gov/Data/Spatial/MSDI/
